In this map, you can see the post-world war one map of Africa with the German colonies boosting the British territories and opening up the potential for the long desired Cape to Cairo railway line under continuous British administration. Unfortunately, geography and economics would ultimately prevent this particular dream from being completed although parts of it most certainly were.
