Governor Glass and his Companions

Painted in 1824 by the artist Augustus Earle who was inexplicably left ashore by his ship whilst on transit to the USA. He had to wait a while until the next ship came along - just as well he had his painting materials with him. His remarkable journey took him to many other interesting and unexpected stops along the way.
