• Wonders of World Engineering
This is a wonderful collection of articles from the 1930s magazine of the same name. Although a general engineering magazine, it has many relevant articles connected to varios imperial projects or inventions. Although the text and photos are monochrome, there are some gorgeous full colour illustrations hidden amongst the articles. Well worth a look for anyone interested in the history of engineering and technology.
  • Canadian Railway Telegraph History
Countries don't get much larger than Canada. This site helps put the scale of achievement and the impact of this technology into perspective. It's a little technical and specialised in places but do watch out for the wonderful collection of nineteenth and early twentieth station pictures on this site.
