The Boer War

This is a fairly fanciful part of Boer War Art that purports to show the heroism of British soldiers assaulting a Boer defence. In reality, the Boers were a far more elusive force who showed remarkable marksmanship from great distances. It was rare that a large British force could get that close to a defensive position without having taken dreadful casualties.
