Baring Crisis, Argentina

The 1867 British North America Act saw many (but not all) of the Provinces in Canada unite into a Federal system. This was partially in response to the militarisation of the US due to the Civil War there and to Fenian Raids from across the American border. Newfoundland was a notable exception to joining the Federation.
