John Cabot was quick to follow up on news that Christopher Columbus had discovered a New World. Rather than just explore that New World, John Cabot was actually trying to discover a new route to the Orient by searching for the elusive 'North West Passage'. His return journeys were also designed to find this route and his disappearance was presumably whilst on one of these searches. |
