Private 1711

The regiment first wore green facings around 1711 while they were under the command of the Earl of Cadogan. Colonels of regiments had much more power over their unit at that time and it was common for a regiment to adopt the livery colour of their aristocratic colonel. The hats became tricorn around this time also. The cuirass is worn under the red coat and the crossed belts supported the carbine and sword.
