Private, 1742

Illustration by Richard Knotel, the German artist, taken from the 1742 'Cloathing book' which depicted the uniforms of other ranks in all the cavalry regiments. The original is in monochrome in the top right corner. The coat is mostly obscured by the wide belts crossed over his chest. The cuffs, waistcoat and breeches are all green. His shabraque and holster caps are red, decorated with a trophy of arms.
