Funeral post-Battle of Falklands


10 British sailors were killed in the operation to sink the German Pacific Fleet attempting to return to Europe in 1914. The Germans had approximately 2,000 sailors killed in this operation, although most of these went down with their ships. The British did not lose any ships but still sustained damage from shots that hit. The picture shows the British being taken to burial in a ceremony in Port Stanley. The procession is passing Jubilee villas, built to Commomorate Queen victoria's Golden Jubilee of 1887. This photograph was generously donated by Dean Street
