| Charles-Augustin de Coulomb was a renowned physicist who toured hospitals of Europe with Jacques Tenon. They were both mightily impressed with the design and layout of Stonehouse military hospital and took the ideas back to France where they formed the basis of French hospital architecture for over a century. |
