Band Photo 1927

The band took part in the Lord Mayors Show on 27 Nov 1927 and they are photographed here in London. They were horse-mounted for the parade and wore khaki service dress. The two officers wear Sam Browne belts and shirts and ties. They are the commanding officer Lt-Col Malise Graham DSO on the left, and Major Greenwood MC on the right. Greenwood assumed command a month later in Dec 1927. The bandmaster sits next to Colonel Graham, also wearing a Sam Browne as he is a 1st Class WO, but has his tunic fastened at the neck. The musicians have jodhpurs and puttees but the officers and the bandmaster have brown knee boots. The drum banners are not in this photo.
