British Empire Title

The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders

Captain c1896

The pose adopted by this officer shows the plaid tucked under his twisted gold shoulder cords. He has two star badges on the cords which denoted the rank of captain until 1902 when it was increased to three stars. His rank is also shown by the line of gold braid inside the gold lace edge to his cuff. The gilt plate on his white shoulder-belt is the older version that had LXXIX.
