General Archibald Paris

General Archibald Paris was given command of the hastily formed Naval Division. At first, it was only used as a feint at Bulair to distract Turks from committing reserves to the location of the actual landings. Later they were incorporated into the main Gallipoli sector where they took such horrific casualties that they were soon fit for little else than trench holding activities.
