Edward Ussher DSO


Born 26 Nov 1869 at Budworth Cheshire. He was a 2nd Lt 29 Mar 1890 and a lieutenant on 21 Sep 1892. He served in South Africa and was promoted to captain and appointed adjutant on 19 Nov 1900. On 4 Nov 1901 he was gazetted for the DSO. He was wounded on 18 Feb 1902 at Klippan and died of his wounds on 20 Feb 1902. His father was John Ussher of The Dene, Great Budworth, Cheshire. Edward was married on 21 July 1897 to Selina Bowen. They had one son, Richard, born 26 Dec 1899.
