Thomas Ross



Thomas Ross served as an officer in the 90th Regiment and then the 73rd, going on half-pay before exchanging to the command of the 2nd Battalion 24th Regiment on 5th April 1864. He commanded for more than 10 years, until 14th November 1874, during which time he was promoted to full colonel. He was a major-general in 1876 and retired with the rank of Lieutenant-General.
