The Royal Irish Regiment

Battle of Kotkai

This print was published in the Illustrated London News in November 1888, six weeks after the battle at Kotkai. The caption states that the 29th Punbab Infantry captured the village. Although they were the first unit to enter the village the Royal Irish had played the most significant part in the battle.
