This older officer has captain's braiding around the silver cord Austrian knot on his cuff. The whiskers cover the white collar so we cannot see his badge of rank which in 1865 would have been a crown and star. The plume on his busby is fuller and more imposing than the one worn by the subaltern in a photo of the same period. |
