| This map shows the various landing beaches designated to the 29th British Division (Camber Bar, V, W, X, Y) and the Anzac Division (Z). They are actually given sequential letter designations from South to North. Landing Beach Y was actually added at the very last moment by Hamilton himself. Indeed the sobriquet of 'beach' could hardly have been applied to the rocky cliffs of the landing point there. |
