The First to Fall


This poignant photograph shows the very first Allied land casualty of the Gallipoli Campaign. If you look carefully you can clearly see Australian Sapper R Reynolds lying on the beach as members of the 4th Battalion come ashore. This picture was taken at 8am on 25 April at what would become known as Anzac Cove
