This photo was published in British Army Badges by Robin Hodges (2005). The officer, Captain Leigh Drummond, is the right-hand figure in the foreground. They are all in No.1 dress ceremonial, wearing the Glengarry cap cocked as a dress item. It replaced the blue Lowland bonnet in 1961. Standing next to Captain Drummond is Regimental Sergeant-Major Tom Brass. He and the officer are dressed similarly, with swords slung from a white shoulder-belt. They both have crimson silk sashes on the left shoulder, Scottish-style. Officers of other British regiments had worn their sashes around the waist since 1902.
Pipe-Major Steven Bell, on the left, wears dress uniform decorated with gold lace, a plain blue Glengarry cocked, and kilt and plaid in Royal Stewart tartan.

Not long after this parade, the King’s Own Scottish Borderers were amalgamated on 28 March 2006 with the Royal Scots to form one of seven battalions of the Royal Regiment of Scotland (SCOTS). Later, when the regiment was reduced to five battalions, they became the 1st Battalion Royal Scots Borderers. This was finally disbanded in December 2021.
