The Plymouth Drum 1796

The Plymouth Drum 1796

The people of Plymouth presented the 25th (Edinburgh) Regiment with this brass drum as a gesture of goodwill and friendship. The engraved inscription reads: ‘Plymouth 24th Decr. 1796 25th Regt’. This drum is displayed in the Regimental Museum with a label that says it was carried at Egmont op Zee 1799, Alexandria 1801, Guadaloupe and Martinique 1809.

The photo comes from Hiram Dunn’s KOSB Regimental Booklet (2026) with the author’s kind permission.
