Officer’s Field Service Cap c1936

This blue and scarlet example of a Field Service Cap has the RHA embroidered badge on the left side. In our badges section The Officers’ Bullion Badge, George VI is of similar design but the badge on this cap does not seem to have the VI in the middle. However it is much more likely to be a George VI badge than George V as the overall design is that introduced for Edward VIII. The display label gives c1936 as the date, presumably as the museum curators were unsure about which King reigned at the time of the cap. The gold braid along the edges of the cap indicate senior officer status.
