Sergeant-Major Campbell

There is little information on Sergeant-Major Campbell other than he has medals for the Crimean War. The date of the photo is c1870. He wears the dress uiform of the RHA with gold cord on his jacket, and four chevrons on his lower sleeve with embroidered Victorian crown and gun badge above. The 1864 Dress Regulations for the Royal Artillery illustrate this rank decoration with the caption, 'Brigade, Sergeant-Major, and Quartermaster Sergeant's Sleeve.'
