Mounted Trumpeters, Service Dress 1904


The new khaki service dress replaced the blue serge uniforms worn up until the Boer War. However the Brodrick cap which had a short life in the first decade of the 20th century was blue and red with the new Royal Artillery badge on the front. They wear leather ammunition bandoliers and are festooned with the tri-colour trumpet and bugle cords and tassels. The cap is shown below.
