Trumpet Major No.2 dress c1999

Trumpet Major Rod Jeffries retired from the army in 2008 after 37 years service. He has worked on behalf of charities such as Combat Stress and the PDSA. In this photo he is wearing no.2 dress uniform and peaked forage cap. His four inverted chevrons are overlaid with the embroidered trumpeters’ badge and an embroidered gun badge above. His gold cap lines around his collar fall down at the back and loop under his left arm onto a small hook on his right breast. He holds a staff of office which is decorated with a silver chain in the manner of a drum-major’s mace.
