The lower badge with red cloth backing is a trumpeter’s appointment badge, worn on the right upper sleeve in dress uniform and no.2 dress. The upper badge on dark blue backing is a trumpet major’s appointment badge. This is from Robin Hodges’ book of British Army Badges (2005).
