Snow Covered Dugouts

This picture shows Anzacs shivering when an unexpected blizzard hit the peninsula on November 27th just days after Kitchener had left. Perhaps 200 soldiers died of exposure and a further 5000 suffered from frostbite. Winter clothing had not yet been provided as all talk was concerned with evacuating rather than bringing more stores on land. Of course, the Turks were suffering every bit as much.
