| This artistic representation purports to show the Turkish defending artillery crews in action against the combined British and French fleets on March 18th. In reality the bigger guns were less useful than the more mobile smaller and howitzers used by the Turks. The big guns were easier for the Allies to target as they could not move out of the way. |
