Dutch Harsh Treatment of EIC Traders

Despite being co-religionists, the Dutch proved to be particularly brutal in dealing with 'commercial competition' from their English counterparts. The English East India Company retreated from the area unable to match the resources of the far better financed Dutch East India Company.
