These naïve paintings of the Colours are part of a montage showing the Regimental battle honours from Namur to Korea, the whole thing dated 1972.
The Queen’s Colour would have been unchanged since 1946 when ten of the 43 battle honours earned in World War Two were added to the 10 emblazoned WW1 honours.
The Regimental Colour has 12 battle honours; five on each side and one, KOREA 1951-52, just above EGYPT and the Sphinx. The extra honour added to the right-hand group is KOWANG-SAN. So two out of the three Korean honours were emblazoned. ‘Maryang-San’ was accredited, but not on the Colours.
